Makes perfect cookie cutter cookies every time. Add butter, vanilla extract, and eggs. Makes 24 cookies.
Preheat oven to 400. In large bowl cream together 1 cup softened butter and the sugar. Beat in 1 tsp vanilla, 1 egg, and the flour mixture. Roll out on floured surface and use desired cookie cutter to cut cookies. Place on ungreased cookie sheet on top rack of oven. Bake for 6-7 minutes. Makes 24 average sized cookies. For icing: Melt a little butter in small bowl and slowly stir in powdered sugar to desired consistency. Add vanilla or almond extract and dye with food coloring if desired.
